Villa 20 is a 2 Bedroom, 2.5 Bath plus Loft ocean, lagoon and golf course view single family Home on Bald Head Island, a semitropical island off the coast of Southport, North Carolina. The home is designed to comfortably accommodate a maximum of six people in a queen, king and two twin size beds
The home is comfortably appointed to make a beach vacation easy. The home is nonsmoking and non-pet friendly. We do all we can to keep it nice and clean for all our guests.
The location of Villa 20 on the island is ideal. The villa is across the street from South Beach and next to the Bald Head Island club house and pool. The casual atmosphere of the island and wonderful location makes it easy to settle in and start vacationing from the moment you arrive.
Villa 20 resides among a cluster of beach front homes along South Bald Head Wynd, named - The Villas. (Bottom left corner of the map below - where all the lagoons converge) There are a total of 54 Villas in the cluster. Most were built in the 1980s as vacation homes but some are used as full time residences.
The residents of the Villas tend to be very friendly and will often share a hot grill or help you finish a bottle of wine. The kids always seem to find friends within the Villas and the location next to the club, with the community pool, playground, and tennis courts seems to add more friends.
Vacation on Bald Head Island begins the moment you board the ferry for the 20-minute scenic ride over to the island. After more than a decade of traveling to and from the island on the ferry, I still love standing on the forward deck and letting the sun and wind tell me that it is time to shift into a slower pace of life.
There are no cars on Bald Head. Travel on the island is by golf cart, bicycle or people power. Villa 20 is equipped with a large 6-passenger golf cart, equipped with a cover and side panels for protection from the elements.
The golf cart garage is on the ground level, along with the outdoor protected hot and cold water shower, and washer and dryer. We have plenty of beach chairs hanging on the wall in the garage along with an array of beach toys, so ask if we have it before you lug it over on the boat. Just spray things off with fresh water before you put it back to make sure the next guest gets to enjoy it like you did. There is a charcoal grill in the garage for your use. If you use the charcoal and lighter fluid please replace it before you leave.
The next level up is the main living level of the Villa. Floors in the main living area are ceramic tile and the bedrooms and loft are carpeted. The home has central air conditioning and heat. The main level has an outdoor deck that serves as the entrance to the villa. There is another outdoor deck off the loft that offers an ocean view and a place to enjoy your morning coffee, watch sunsets or star gaze.
